James Bailie was the Son of William and Isabella Bailie (nee Patton) of Listooder. James was Killed in Action aged 30 on the 1st of July 1916. It is believed he enlisted in Larne as he was working in Craddock’s garage in the town prior to the war, furthermore, the 12th battalion were known as the Antrim Volunteers.
James has no known grave but is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial and Ballynahinch War Memorial.
